DM water plant

Near-pure water for demanding processes

Some processes need water with almost no dissolved minerals at all. A demineralisation (DM) plant uses cation and anion ion-exchange resins to remove positively and negatively charged ions, producing water with extremely low conductivity.

For the highest purity, a mixed-bed polisher is added after the main units. We also design RO + DM combinations that reduce chemical consumption and running cost.

Industries that rely on DM water

  • Power plants and high-pressure boilers
  • Battery manufacturing
  • Pharmaceuticals and laboratories
  • Textile finishing, electronics and coatings

Why clients rely on us

Engineering you can depend on

A trusted partner

Homes, factories, hospitals and institutions across Bangladesh rely on our plants for safe water every day. We treat every project as a long-term relationship, not a one-time sale.

Quality at every step

We select vessels, membranes, media and pumps that suit local water conditions, and we test the treated water before handover so you can see the result for yourself.

Modern treatment technology

RO, UF, ion exchange, multimedia filtration, UV and automated controls — we combine proven technologies into a plant that is efficient to run and simple to operate.

Why purity matters

When ordinary treated water is not pure enough

Minerals that are harmless in drinking water can cause deposits, corrosion and product defects in industrial processes.

  • Boiler & turbine deposits

Silica and salts form hard deposits at high pressure.

  • Battery performance

Impurities in electrolyte water shorten battery life.

  • Lab & pharma accuracy

Dissolved ions interfere with tests and formulations.

  • Textile finishing

Minerals affect dye uptake and fabric quality.

  • Electronics & coating

Residues leave spots and defects on finished surfaces.

  • Corrosion

Dissolved salts accelerate corrosion in closed systems.

Treatment stages

How a DM plant works

A typical two-bed plant with optional polishing.

  1. 1

    Pre-filtration

Sand and carbon filters protect the resin from solids and chlorine.

  2. 2

    Cation exchanger

Removes calcium, magnesium and sodium ions.

  3. 3

    Degasser (optional)

Strips carbon dioxide to reduce load on the anion unit.

  4. 4

    Anion exchanger

Removes chloride, sulphate, nitrate and silica.

  5. 5

    Mixed-bed polisher

Final polishing for ultra-low conductivity water.

  6. 6

    Regeneration

Acid and caustic restore the resin when exhausted.

Why DM

Benefits of a DM water plant

  • Very low conductivity

Consistently high-purity water for critical uses.

  • Stable quality

Online conductivity meters signal when regeneration is due.

  • Boiler protection

Prevents silica and salt deposits at high pressure.

  • Lower chemical use

Efficient regeneration design reduces acid and caustic.

  • RO + DM option

Pre-treating with RO cuts regeneration frequency sharply.

  • Proven technology

Simple, robust process with easy operator training.

DM water plant — FAQ

What is the difference between DM and RO?

RO removes most dissolved salts using membranes, while DM removes almost all ions using ion-exchange resin. They are often combined: RO first, DM for final purity.

Which chemicals are used for regeneration?

Typically hydrochloric acid for the cation resin and caustic soda for the anion resin. We train your operators on safe handling.

How often is regeneration needed?

It depends on feed water TDS and daily volume. Conductivity monitoring shows exactly when a unit is exhausted.

Can you add RO to my existing DM plant?

Yes. Adding RO before an existing DM plant is one of the most effective ways to reduce chemical costs.
